Talk about living in privilege that many aren’t able to relate to.
“The Kardashians” reality star Kylie Jenner is being slammed on social media for posting the biggest flex recently, which was boasting about her and boyfriend Travis Scott’s private jets and using hers to take short flights.
Here’s how it all unfolded for the reality star.
According to the Twitter account @CelebJets, the account posted Jenner’s plane route after she flew from Van Nuys, California, last Tuesday, estimating that the trip would only take three minutes instead of a 45-minute drive. The page later clarified that the total flight time ended up being 17 minutes, Page Six reported.
But the account normally lists the pounds of jet fuel being used, the cost of fuel, and the tons of CO2 emissions, but it didn’t do so in Jenner’s case.
Then some days after the quick flight she took, Jenner posted a black-and-white picture of her and Scott hugging in front of two private jets – which belongs to each of them.
“You wanna take mine or yours?” she wrote underneath Friday’s Instagram post.
The opulent flex didn’t go over too well with social media users where Jenner received major backlash across Twitter and Instagram and was labeled as a “full-time climate criminal.”
“80% of people have never taken a plane and Kylie Jenner is out here taking regular 10-minute flights, 5 flights in the last week under 30 minutes, one was 3 minutes long. Her carbon footprint for one ten-minute flight, is more than some people make in a year,” one Twitter user wrote.
Another wrote, “Kylie Jenner is out here taking 3-minute flights with her private jet but I’m the one who has to use paper straws.”
On Instagram underneath her post, one user quipped, “Meanwhile I’m just trying to fill up my gas tank.”
Another added, “This is so relatable Kylie!”
Another follower wrote, “In the period of a global warming crisis, you think this is the most appropriate thing to post?”
The reality star, who was previously mocked for making average errands sound aspirational, turned off her comments for the post and has yet to address the backlash.
